species basics
liten fe, or "little fairies", are a closed species with anatomy similar to that of a feline or squirrel, and faerie traits.
they have two forms; one in which they're the size of a large cat, and in the other they're the size of a squirrel. they can alternate between these forms freely.
they all have faerie wings, gems somewhere on their bodies (commonly on their tails), along with other unique traits.

their wings, gems, and nature details are the most important parts of the design!
gems, eyes, special fluff, and wings are all the same color!
they have nature traits in their design! this includes leaves (as shown on the liten fe pictured here), flowers, feathers, etc.

liten fe are a closed species, so please don't make your own!
you can separate the design from the species! they don't have to be a liten fe.
design changes are perfectly fine! if they're going to remain an official liten fe design, please keep some of the main design aspects of the species. (wings, gems, etc.)
lore isn't important to the character unless you want it to be!

i'm unsure about myo's (make your owns) for now, but feel free to ask! if the species gains popularity, there is also the possibility of guest artists designing customs or adopts.
Basic lore
liten fe are divine creatures, born from pure energy. they form from crystals/gems, and these are the gems seen on their bodies for the rest of their lives. the colors flowing through their gems, wings, eyes, and certain parts of their fur are their life force.
liten fe can only die as a result of negative energy, which infects their life force and pollutes their pure essence. this leads to sickness and decay. liten fe can overcome this sickness, but will be left with cracked gems and a dulled life force.
liten fe act as protectors of the environment. they restore any pollution or damage using their pure energy. they usually dedicate themselves to a certain patch of land to protect; however, some travel and assist wherever they can.
liten fe are social creatures, and commonly live in small groups together in these protected areas.
liten fe cannot be seen by the human eye without divine assistance, and can be hurt and/or warded off, though not fatally injured, by materials damaging to fae. this includes salt, iron, horseshoes, etc.
certain plants and running water however, both things that effect fae, don't effect them due to their role as nature guardians.
behavior
as mentioned before, liten fe are very social creatures. they live in groups, form close bonds, and some find lifelong partners. some liten fe can have a connection similar to that of a soulmate. their energies are complimentary, and these liten fe (two or more) usually form lifelong romantic, platonic, or familial bonds.
liten fe cannot give birth, as they form from crystals. however, some have been known to adopt others into their families.
they are fairly docile creatures, though territory disputes are common.
liten fe are insectivores and herbivores. they most commonly eat berries and small insects. when it is dark, liten fe can be seen using their glowing gems to lure bugs closer, similar to the tactics of an angler fish.
liten fe do not have any natural predators, and usually live fairly long lives. there is no overpopulation, as they are rarely formed. years can pass before the next batch of liten fe are formed from crystals.
liten fe can also be purposefully or accidentally injured by previously mentioned objects harmful to fae.
liten fe are viewed by humans as folk tales. some believe in them, some try to capture them and study them, and some think they're simply stories told to children in attempts to encourage environmental awareness.

they now use a common/uncommon/rare/very rare trait system! i understand this can be a bit tedious, but it works best for myo events!!
i tried to make these as simple and understandable as i could, but i'm sorry if it seems complicated! i'll try to make a visual trait sheet soon.
any types of ears! any special fluff placement! any colors! anatomy must be similar to a squirrel or cat.

Species Rules
liten fe are a closed species! please don't make your own! if you'd like to take inspiration though, and design a fairy cat? go for it! just please don't copy existing liten fe designs, copy every aspect of the species, or call your character a liten fe!
i'm going for a fairly chill closed species! if you really enjoy the species and would like to get one, but can't afford adopts or customs? dm me and we can figure something out!
if you own a liten fe design, you're absolutely free to seperate them from the species, and you don't have to change their design at all to do so!

character transfers are also okay! just like with any designs bought from me, i'd appreciate knowing of current ownership. this can be tracked using toyhouse (my user is LovelyBugsieART), or just messaging me anytime the character changes ownership! i understand that can be hard to keep track of, though! i'm not too strict about it, its just something i personally appreciate with any designs bought from me.
new owners can also keep them as part of the species, or separate them!
you also don't need to keep up with the lore! i write about liten fe lore mostly for fun, and i think it adds more depth to the species! but if you'd like your liten fe to be a coffee shop owner who likes to skateboard, instead of a nature guardian, go for it!
